Hiro decided to move back to Japan to live to be closer to his and
Kimiko's families and to make life easier for Kimiko.
Kimiko speaks very little English, so life in the United States remains
very limited for her (and probably relatively boring as well). For Hiro,
who is in IME Support, his career path at Tumbleweed is also limited given
the small number of calls in for the IME product (which either means that
the product works exceptionally well or people are not using it). In either
case, being in Support would mean waiting for that pink slip with your head
on the chopping block.
As much as I agree with Hiro's rationale, I wish he is not leaving. Hiro
is simply one of those extremely nice people that one only meets once in
a blue moon.
It would seem appropriate that we should all go to a Japanese restaurant
for his going-away lunch, but since I organized it, it's dim-sum at the best
dim-sum restaurant in the mid-peninsula! Yummy-yummy-yummy!
